To The Lunch Room

The lunch room is filled with all sorts of magnificence beings. In every movie they have stereotypes of how people perceive high school lunch rooms to be. I used to be terrified of high school because of this; but now that I'm in and apart of a group that I sit with every day I never really noticed the cliques until recently.
Yesterday i walked into the lunch room late because I was held up in English class. The lines were short (compared to how they usually are) and the tables were full. As I walked through the lunch room to find the perfect line to go into, i just people watch. I look all around trying not to run into anyone or knock over anything. As my eyes are scanning wildly around the big oasis I see how many groups are here at Lawrence North High School.
It's almost like the movie "Mean Girls" where if there was a new person that came to this school and didn't know anyone and that person and I started talking and became acquainted then I could make a map of the lunch room. I could show that person where they should sit and where they shouldn't. Seriously there is every type of clique: there are the freshman people actually know, Freshman no one knows, outcasts, regular band people, marching band, the Senior table, the Junior table, the Sophomore table, skaters, stoners, sorry to say but the sluts, the socially awkward, people that talk too much, the people that eat their feelings, people that don’t eat at all, the ghetto people, the class clowns, people that are most likely to LARP, and the emotional group.
The lunch room is probably one of the things kids look to in a school day. It’s where they get to sit and talk to there friends about gossip, where they can be themselves, where they can just relax for 30 minuets in the day. This place is where we go to just be free; I mean let’s face it, Someone Had to Say It.
